Construction waste needs to be accounted for under EN15978, but most EPDs don’t account for construction waste impacts either in additional material in modules A1-A3, or in disposal of construction waste in A5. However, some do. We need a way of quickly identifying which EPDs are accounting for construction waste, and a software solution for […]
Flexible End of Life Selections
New LCA standards such as the RICS WLC standard will require mixed end of life scenarios, beyond what is currently possible in eTool. Green Star Buildings is another example. Under these standards and schemes materials will need to be modelled with varying proportions of end of life waste allocated to reuse, recycling, disposal in landfill, […]
Update Default Construction Waste Factors
The current default construction waste factors are out of date. At least 3 standards/rating schemes have recently published average construction waste factors to be used to calculate A5 impacts. These should be integrated into eTool.
Quality Checks for Library Templates
We should add a set of quality checks to templates within the library environment. This would help with template validation and improve consistency of templates in the library.
Validated Template Filter in Library
It could be useful to be able to search through only validated templates in the library when trying to identify the most appropriate template.
EPD Creation
It would be useful for some software users to be able to create product EPDs in eTool.
Electric Equipment Options
We need more electric construction equipment options, including simple electricity consumption during construction. It is becoming more common to have electrical equipment and grid connection to site, and the phasing out of diesel generators.
External Certifier Role
With more and more demand for 3rd party certifications we need the functionality of allocating individuals (potentially from another organisation) as a reviewer or certifier.
ICMS3 Infrastructure Categories
Having different construction scope categories for infrastructure projects makes sense because the current RICS NRM categories do not align to infrastructure projects.
Alternative 2 factor authentication method
For a number of users the verification PIN comes through only after a significant delay. This can be a significant disincentive to using the tool.
Project and Structure Level reporting
For large projects involving multiple buildings (such as precinct level projects) it would be very useful to be able to create reports at the structure, or project level. Precinct level projects containing multiple buildings will often only be practical to model using multiple structures or multiple different building models per structure (or a combination of […]
Organisation Benchmarks
Several organisations would like to have the ability to use one or more certified models as a benchmark for other projects. There are a lot of building types that eTool doesn’t have an appropriate benchmark for, e.g. health care buildings, schools, warehouses, banking institutions, railway stations, aged care residences etc.. Organisations that specialise in these […]
Focus Indicator(s)
Add a key indicator focus to the LCA reports
Clone Scenario Tree for the next design phase
It would be great if whole projects or whole structures could be cloned, not just individual designs
Un-Certify – Re-Certify Design Feature
Allow a design to be un-certified and re-certified. This might be needed if a new certification requirement arises (such as if a new rating scheme is being applied that requires additional certification checks), or if changes need to be made post-certification. OR Unlock a certified design for changes, warn users this will: Watermark existing saved […]
