Regarding the usage of NABERS default values

Given that NABERS has issued the Emission Factors (EF) for various elements, and these will soon be implemented, we are considering using the NABERS default values for these elements in our model. Could you please advise if this is feasible and, if so, how we should proceed?

Hi Lee,

Thanks for your query. Please note the following points about the NABERS emission factors:
– they’re A1-A3 only, no other modules
– they’re GWP-T only, so no other indicators
– there’s only a very limited number of items and they don’t relate directly to our database

This means that incorporating the NABERS emissions figures into eTool won’t be so straightforward. You can only do it with custom EPDs which would substantially reduce the functionality of your LCA in eTool and your baseline model would only be A1-A3. Therefore we would not recommend doing that.

We are however considering how we can work with NABERS to provide a more feasible outcome to our users.
