Release Notes – eTool and RapidLCA Software

Software release notes for eTool and RapidLCA.

V5.42.0 – 1 July 2026

What’s New
  • Library EPD Organisation Column: To improve visibility and streamline EPD management, we have added a new Organisation column within the library EPD view. This makes it easier to track and sort EPDs tied to specific organisations.
  • Template CSV Import Improvements: CSV template import process refined to make it smarter and more accurate. Archived templates are now automatically excluded from the “Previously Selected Matches” list, ensuring you only see relevant, active data.
  • Currency & Costing Adjustments: Scale Costs currency dropdown has been updated to reflect your project’s financial indicator selections, ensuring easier alignment between your project settings and cost scaling.
Bug Fixes
  • Template CSV Import Fix: Resolved a bug where importing design templates occasionally produced incorrect costs for deep structures (greater than 2 layers).
  • Transport Loss Calculation Fix: Fixed a minor calculation error affecting the dataset and EPD layers regarding transport loss. Note: the impact of this bug was minimal, as the transport loss value is set to 0 by default.
  • Module D1 Calculation Adjustment: For projects using the Dataset Layer (other than ‘Default LCI Source’), pending updates to recycled content data from external providers, specific closed-loop recycling calculations for Module D1 have been temporarily excluded as a precaution against overstating recycling benefits.

V5.37.0 – 31 May 2025

eTool

  • Improvements to Database Architecture to Unify EPD Elements
Our team has performed some high-level database wizardry to change how eTool manages EPDs. This upgrade aligns EPDs with our other library elements and sets the stage for some exciting new features that will help users transparently gap-fill EPDs. Watch this space for more!
  • Library Links in EPDs
EPDs within Designs will now show a link back to their Library reference on the “Details” tab
  • Update to B1 Impact Coefficient Calculation
We’ve updated the calculation method for B1 Impact Coefficient values for refrigeration profiles in version 20. Earlier versions will continue to use the existing method to ensure full backward compatibility.
  • Improvements to Import Template Matching
Import Template Matching has been made case-insensitive. Template matching will now ignore capitalisation differences, resulting in a more reliable import experience.
  • Improvements to Clone Banner
Improvements have been made to the clone banner UI at the Project and Structure levels to clearly show when a design cloning operation is still running or has failed a bulk operation, reducing user confusion.
  • Improved Import Progress Labelling
The status of Design Imports has been improved to clearly indicate that files have passed format checks prior to being fully processed, reducing confusion about data import completion.
  • Bug Fix – Users could not Unarchive an EPD
Users can now edit any EPDs that they’ve created even after they’ve been archived.
  • Bug Fix – Template Import Correction
Template Import (Auto) now prevents matching with incompatible LCI Groups
  • Bug Fix – Design Archiving
A bug preventing users from archiving certified designs has been corrected.
  • Bug Fix – Cloning Now Copies Attachments
Design cloning now copies attachments and skips deleted links. Attachment deletion removes unused files while keeping those still referenced.
